All Things Metal

Anybody heard of Bask? Never heard of em. But theyre from AvL and it seems like they have a pretty solid following. Opening for Elder rn. They’re pretty tight.

Was supposed to see them open for elder but Covid happened. Sick band though.

Reeaaaally digging this :metal:

They’ve played here twice already and friends with the crew. I guess they’ll be back!

Sending the Gold & Silver Sessions to a buddy, what’s the best heavy stuff to accompany it if my metal head buddy thinks it’s too spacey?

Reflections of a Floating World and Innate Passage. Fuck it, Lore too.

I’ve only been listening a few months, but I also really dig Omens and Dead Roots Stirring. Omens might be kind of spacy, but DRS is pretty crunchy with the effects

I celebrate their entire catalogue and love Omens but wouldn’t use it as a starting point. Every record has 2-3 absolute bangers.

I hear you and agree. Just hard not to jump in with those 2 albums - no song on either one really misses for me. Spinning DRS now to get some energy for the gym.

This, Heilung, and Amon Arath all at redrocks in between the typical trance, drugbands, and string pluckers that typically make up a red rocks season.

I am currently spinning the new one spectral voice entitled “Sparagmos,” that released today. It’s got some nice dark atmospheric sections and intense death metal breakdowns. The vinyl came with a poster of the album art, so I have to decide it I am going to put that above my cassette storage or the latest tomb mold cover art poster. Check the record out if you are looking to spin something new today. This is one of the side projects of 3/4ths of blood incantation and the brainchild of Eli Wendler (drummer, vocals).

Would love to see Heilung

Me too, they regularly play Denver now. This is the second year in a row of them playing red rocks. It’s just a matter of leaving my house when I am so tired all the time.

Hell I might go see me some Symphony X in May

I just saw that Heilung is playing DC, might have to hit that if tickets aren’t too much

I finally had a chance to spin this new Exulansis “Overtures of Uprising” LP that was released alongside the new panopticon record. Its a wonderful listen for fans of US antifacist, atmospheric black metal like Wolves in the Throne Room and Panopticon. The added element of violin really makes this record. The violin is up front in the mix and its ferociously played by Andrea Morgan. This was also really well recorded. It’s not your typical blown out first wave black metal recording. You can really pick out what each member of the band is doing, especially the bassist and drummer.

If you would like to listen, the full album stream is available on youtube. I suggest the title track “overtures of uprising”

Finally seeing The Ocean tonight in Denver! Been dying to see them forever now, I can’t wait.

Anyone see them on this tour yet?

What do y’all think of Sleep Token?

I was at a party and this chick was all about them, so I gave them a listen. I don’t hate it but I’m not sure how much I like it yet. But I do know I’ve been drawn back in to relisten a bunch of times.
