Going to our first club night since the baby was born. Not sure if I know how to party sober. We’ll see how it goes. I do like who we are seeing but it’ll be tempting to go to the bar. TWT. I think my chick would be ok with a few beers but I want to stay strong and not fold.

We’re Camelphat. One of her faves.

Camelphat rips, their album last year has been one of my favorites in recent memory. Saw their playing with Massano who is dope too, enjoy

I love me some hard techno but I have no clue how she’s doing 2 nights at the caverns. I’d be shocked if she sold out the 300 cap EDM venue in Nashville. Interesting

Yah that seems like a weird bulling for the caves. Love the chick but does not seem like the right place.

I’m all for techno in the caverns but she just doesn’t seem like a name that could actually be the first of her genre to play there, let alone two nights

I would be shocked if even some of the biggest techno names could sell out two nights. Carl Cox is the only one that comes to mind that would be a maybe

How big is the room?? TBH the techno she plays isn’t like the biggest in the US and usually fits better in euro circuits. I could see Tale of Us selling it out but yah, Sara not so much. She’s from Austin and played a ton around town back in the day and it wasn’t techno at all. Once she started upping the BPM there weren’t a lot of places that booked her because she didn’t fill the dance floor.

Cap is 1200. That’s why I’m mind blown, plenty of EDM acts play and don’t sell it out, let alone her niche sun genre of techno which is arguably the least palatable form

I think she’s great but won’t move enough tickets to sell 1/4 of it.

Deff better in a grimey dark club for sure.

First 20 minutes of this had me moving. Excited to come back to this later.

That was awesome. Only critique is some of the transitions were abrupt or poorly done. But fucking great fucking tracklist top to fucking bottom.

Ima check that out tomorrow at work

Chris Stussy might be my favorite producer right now. Absolutely killing the groovy/minimal tech scene

The show was just ok. Their opener Massano was super dope but Camelphat was just ehhhh tbh. Their mixing skills were pretty subpar for how big they are and they really didn’t control the room like they should have. I deff felt like a lot of people there just kinda stood there talking during their set. I used to super into that melodic techno sound and last night really made me realize it’s just a one trick pony and everything sounds the same. Heavy 4/4 intro, melodic chord progression, first drop, heavier build to the second drop with some type of chick robotic talking over the bridge, drop, end. It helped the be sober during it to make me notice this stuff. It was funny to hear the “wife” say she was disappointed that they didn’t play very much off SpiritualMilk and I said just because they’re touring for the album doesn’t mean they are gonna play anything off it, it was a dj set, they can play whatever… not just supporting songs. She wasn’t thrilled.

We left early and watched saltburn before passing out at 2:15. Good night thought!! Made the most of it.
