Terrible news. Sorry this happened.

Hope you get what you need from our lord and savior, Jerry.

I’m sorry to hear about your loss. Music (especially tGD) can be the best coping mechanism. What’s great about the dead is their lyrics and message on life. Their words can be interpreted in so many different ways. Love you and I’m sending vibes to you and your family.

thanks guys.

i’ve just cued up the 30 days of dead compilations from 2010 through 2019 (except for '17 which i don’t have for some reason, and i haven’t archived '20 yet). set it to shuffle

i chose to start with lost sailor > saint from 10/31/1979 uniondale, ny

I agree with this so much. Hang in there @swb0nd i would give a hairy bear hug if i could even though weve never met. I imagine it hurts really bad right now.

afterwards, the random songs took me to the music never stops (4/24/78), then masons children (1/10/70) , and now imma bout to skip he’s gone from (3/26/87 (her birthyear)), fotd now 6/7/70

so far, each tune on on the random play list, er… fits(?) in one way or another.

edit: finally, some one drummer dead. china>rider (9/24/73). ‘miss when gone’ = bampow

second edit: bobby with the blackthroated (10/23/73) line about ‘going back home, thats what i’m gonna do’ is another bampow, since it is still likely months away from making the 3Kmi journey home

big vibes. can’t imagine what you’re going through but hope you know this internet community is here for ya.

thanks again. she was a GD fan, as we all were from my parents on down. the GD music that i’ve been playing (loudly) all day, has been helpful for me. but along side, kinda taking over this thread for a few hours and hearing from you folks has also had an impact. it is appreciated.

umph love is short and planned
dash-bort love is long lasting and unconditional.

Losing my best friend was one of the hardest things I’ve ever dealt with. I found some peace knowing that he wasn’t fighting everyday anymore. Sending love to you and your family, amigo. Let there be songs…

So sorry for your loss. Pain sucks. Addiction sucks. Death sucks the most.
Music helps. A lot.
Not to make light of your loss, but it seems as I get older, I’m always somewhere in the grieving process for someone I’ve known and loved. GD music is an integral part of that process for me. Keep hanging in and reaching out and you’ll get through this. hugs.

i’ve been reflecting about how thankful that in my (few months away from) 40 years on this planet, i’ve had so few deaths that close to me. 3 of 4 grandparents, and my sister. but i know, that will shift over time. i’m thankful for the years i was spared.

as for bird song, finally allowing that to play today when it comes up as a random selection. that, and he’s gone, were off limits yesterday.

Was look at the what do you appreciate today thread and noticed @kramm liked both mine and @StoneJackBaller’s posts next to each other…

How many likes? 13 on both. Completely in sync. Causation? Correlation? Divine intervention? Hard to say
