Honestly, it probably would sound better with just Bayliss and reworked some, so I’m not sure there was a sit in attached. I was a huge Moe. fan in college, and was super pumped to see a couple shows on this tour prior to my injury, but damn, the guitar play in that band has gone downhill so much (Al was never great really). It’s hard to listen to at times. Without the rhythm section carrying them, and the added keys, they’d be unlistenable. Obviously, much of this is due to Chuck’s health battles, but even before that, it was going downhill. My excitement for these shows was based on pure nostalgia.
One of my hopes for the tour was for Jake to sit in with Moe. to help carry them some tbh.
I’ll add to that: Rob’s voice is awful now. That is certainly a result of the cancer treatments (man that band has been through some shit the last 10 years), but it’s pretty rough to listen to shows now. I used to listen to just about every moe show as they came out and now I don’t really even bother.
