Left during CW. First set was meh as fuck. 2nd set ripped. Baybay is that dude. Linear was my highlight. IDM jam was cool too. Good to be back and warm. Getting High n Dry. See yall tomorrow. Ill be in a loud tie dye

I’ll try and keep it brief.

Kimble > IDKWIW > was overall my highlight but also dug the improv in IDM and Linear (that was it ty SJB)! Bayliss really crushed that Mad Love end. It’s wild hearing composed sections without Jake like Remind Me and zero guitar work for Cem 2 with BB on keys. Goat had potential with some very atypical/interesting things coming from Joel but fizzled unfortunately. Left after Kitchen improv to warm up. Set 1 zero rain. Set 2 rough and nippy.

Catch you fuckos tomorrow!

I thought about it the entire way home and debated making this post but… now that I’ve seen two Scotty shows, I really miss Kris. Sucks to feel this way but he’s the most irreplaceable now that I’ve experienced more of what Scotty has to offer. Kris needed to go (based on my understanding) but he’s sorely missed. I like Scotty’s ability to let the band breathe more with his laid back approach but UM demands a more technical drummer IMO.

Kris and Jake permanently gone would be a massive kick to the balls for me if they continue to avoid most of their catalog I love the most.

First Example 1 with Scotty! About time.

They played their little hearts out tonight. Trying to not think about the future too much and enjoy the present, and the present had a bunch of relentless jams tonight. Escape Goat → Cord and Kimble → IDKWIW were my highlights. This may be the first type 2 IDKWIW and I enjoyed the willingness to explore tonight.

Couldn’t remember where it took place after show but on relisten I’m still hearing the GoT vibes from Bayliss in the IDKWIW improv. The Kimble is gorgeous! Bayliss really elevated it with the ending motif. That was fun. Gonna skim more stuff later

I agree with you. During shows (even not so great ones), I could always count on Kris bringing the absolute heat - such a unique and talented drummer. So many of their best jams over the years were probably only possible because of his insane mastery of the drums - it’s weird that sometimes it was almost another harmonic instrument with the way he played the e-drum. I’m still ride or die w UM but it would massively suck to lose Jake as well. Bay is still the dude though

I liked the Kimble jam a lot
