2025/04/04 - Ryman Auditorium - Nashville, TN - UMBowl XI

I enjoyed the set from the couch for what it was. Set 3 felt like a weird spot for it tho

I mean it’s better and jammier than other “outlaw country” I’ve heard. But most of that genre is tripe for fake cowboy chads.

Should’ve went set 2 then do band choice last.

What an awesome tune… they need to play it more

Ain’t saying nothing new.

Can we transfer portal Sam Bush for Bayliss?

Did y’all not like the 3rd set and encore?

Dude 3rd set was sick. Only slump was Bowers doing the end of band’s choice. That was a fun ass time

Always thought Lenny was a Stevie Ray Vaughan cover

Fairly certain it is. Maybe the fact that Them Changes was right before it led to some confusion with that setlist notation. Could be mistaken, but I don’t believe that I am… :man_shrugging:

Mantis S3 set was fun as hell. I know there was drugs, but the lights and stream production was very well done. There were some cool sounds in set 2, but nothing really had legs. Anders sit in was fun, and i got down. Didn’t mind Grace Bowers, and i think i felt like a dad watching her seem a little nervous at first and feeling happy for her once she got settled. Set 3 had a few boogie moments, but all in all, i don’t think it was for me.

IMO tonight should go- Band Choice, Soundtrack, CYA.

No I liked it, but I also dig most of the artists and songs they covered last night. Sam Bush is amazing and I also thought the band sounded good with a little extra twang in their sound last set.

Like it or not this is what’s great about UMbowl anyways you get to see them try new stuff that will probably not happen again like that outlaw set.

Yeah, I was nice and tuned up but I was just surprised to see lukewarm takes on it.

Outlaw country isn’t my bag but I thought it was very fun and loose. Good atmosphere in the room for it. Joel, Myers, Bayliss, Jake, Hartswick all taking turns on vocals made it a really unique set for me.

it is, carpetcrawler was correct.

setlist should be good now, way too much to track when you’re downing Carlsberg Elephants.

I want to listen to this country set

I streamed since i am a Sam Bush fanboi

I liked the Tinkles jam

Outlaw set was fun but it also really shined a light on how bad they are at singing

Sam seemed pretty disengaged compared to normal but could have just been timing of camera angles

Not something i will listen to again in my free time but was probably an absolute blast in the room and in the moment

A couple other things i noticed

It was Waylon Jenning’s version of Dont Think Twice, Its Alright

They also played the Hank Jr. version of Kaw-Liga

Edit: would have liked a different John Prine song. They could have nailed some of the more upbeat stuff and Angel From Montgomery is really overdone. For good reason though because its a great song

I missed the first couple songs of the outlaw set, I ended up going with original songwriters of the tunes they played. like they obviously played the Dead’s version of Me & My Uncle and not the slowed down original version by John Phillips. same with Mamas… and Ed Bruce.
