I like the effort in doing a two-part jam in Tinkles. Second part didn’t really go anywhere and the landing back into the closing riff was a little forced. But overall pretty tight playing considering they haven’t had a show in 6 weeks.
It really cleared out for both sets. During set 1 Manic Focus was playing and set 2 Liquid Stranger was playing. It was kinda sad how dead it was.
Hard to tell from the pictures, but there was a small crowd at the stage and then a bunch of people really far back who I asume a lot of them were there just chilling in between Cheese sets. So much room from dancing which was amazing! Also… basically no one was singing which was a bummer. I was roaming through the crowd looking for someone to sing “and who could deny that pull” with but very few lips were moving.
Solid festival show. Making my way through. 2nded on the odyssey in Tinkles being sweet, solid effort. Controversy had a dance jam might get your feet tappin’, Pure Saturation felt a little spacey, like in a trying to find their footing kinda way; but they eventually stumbled upon a groove before almost a → 1348.
Digging into the 2nd set now, this Wappy is pleasant, nice explorations of a couple of themes; I appreciate a good stew in a song like Wappy that invites the opportunity for exploration. I like the patience getting back into the verse
Speaking of… When Small Strides started I thought it was Escape Goat for a second and got way too excited saying this is going to be jam of the night. Heard a whisper from behind me that it wasn’t escape goat and immediately I was like oh duh this is Small Strides lolol
