I know this is generally a “hot take” for Wife Soup. Just not my cup of tea for some reason. Respect the love for it though. I just seem to get it all the time

don’t disagree, but doesn’t mean it’s not a set eater

I’ve seen one good Wife Soup and it was like 15 years ago. Don’t necessarily hate the song but it’s never something I’m hoping to hear.

I can’t escape wife soup and it drives me crazy. Always is placed in the meat of a set too. Ruining any sort of jam momentum

Seems like such an easy fix to add a jam to soup again, I wonder why they haven’t? Seems like I haven’t seen any improv in that song since pre 2010

Only one I can think of is 7/30/10 and that’s a dub soup. Won’t disagree to it being a set eater but I’m fine with it if it ends a set

11/2/12 Soup is great. I think there is a killer 23-min version from NYC in 06 or 07 as well.

8/22/19 Chattanooga has a solid set 1 Soup sandwich with a decent jam into BTL. Fun show to be at.

Love that one. I think the only non-dub Soup I’ve seen with a jam was Higher Ground later that year

Two of the biggest set eaters in their catalog. Meh.

Two of the songs that separate UM from other bland jambands.

They’re great songs, just really don’t need to see them live after catching them several times.

Yeah I get it. They also are a bad omen of a Bayliss setlist. But in the opener or encore slot they are welcome IMO.

So they’re worth seeing? They are playing here on Saturday I think.

I’d say yes. Apparently this run has horns too, so will be quite a bit different than a standard Tauk show

@Bron-yr-Aur you are either thinking of Riverview '07, or 12/01/06. Those are the two monster versions.

11/03/10 has a jam, too.
