Out of their 20+ minute jams it’s probably towards the top. I was at a few of them, like 5.23.08 Fir, and I feel like sometimes people equate size for quality with the band’s longer jams when I wouldn’t place the Paris HBB, Vancouver Crooked One, or Scamp Fir in my favorite jams. I think UM shines more on their more concise improv. They don’t noodle much but sometimes the longer jams have lulls.

Totally agree that length doesn’t automatically mean it’s something I’ll throughly enjoy. I’ve seen countless 3-7 minute jams that i absolutely loved and then am surprised when I see how short the track time is. However I’m a sucker for multiple unique segments and mindless noodling, which that crooked one has.

Not in my top 5, just showing it some respect since it gets overlooked with the show being lack luster. Lots of non musical variables that led to me just absolutely enjoying the fuck outta the end of that 2nd set encore.
