Tool

I’m sure they weren’t able to tour with their usual rig and level of production which would mean they probably don’t have access to the whole catalog. It definitely sucks for people who thought it would be different but hardcore Tool fans should’ve known better.

like borters walking into 1/21/18

I mean, they never have access to their full catalogue becuase they only play 25 percent of it.

And I love tool, and will keep seeing them while I can, but yeah it’s not like they were gonna go all out setlist wise.

Agree that it’s shittt of them to do so many repeats, and that people have the right to be pissed, but what did they really expect. Saw 2 shows out of 3 nights in 2022 and only had two different songs but still had a fucking blast. May have cried a lil during the grudge

Curious what’s unique about DR that would prevent this? They travel to Europe with their rig.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they did it next year and enough people attended for the band to profit.

I’m a sucker but this move won’t prevent me from going next time they’re in town.

I just always assumed that the venue at the DR resort might not be as accommodating as the 20,000 capacity arenas they are used to playing. It seems like their shows usually take place on a stage 4x as big

And pray tell, what is this story?

20th anniversary show. band promised a special show and instead they played like 43 songs

How special would it have been for tool to do a stripped down old school show? Come on guys, production isn’t an excuse.

not excusing it and I definitely don’t know a god damn thing about Tool so have a grain of salt with my comments there.

I just can’t imagine their usual production would fit on that tiny ocean side stage.

I had to look this up, and was it known upfront that they were gonna try and play 20 songs for 20 years? Sounds cool in theory, maybe if they did 3 sets.

Get the fuck out of this thread right now.

They advertised it as two unique sets though. I wouldn’t have expected any repeats.

For almost all bands on tour, I’d expect the same setlist with maybe a song or two changed. An exclusive resort that’s catered to their super fans should have something special for them.

I’m not super familiar with all of their catalog but did they have any rarities in either set?

No. All songs are in the main set, except vicarious which hadn’t been played since 2020. Hardly a rarity.
