Shows Without Current Lineup

Since Kris missed Suwanee Rising, I’ve been thinking about cataloging the dates Umphrey’s played shows without one of the current members of the band. Am I missing any? I have:

i’ve got two mirro shows under my belt, but otherwise 100% band attendance

I still think that 1.27.17 Jake-less show w/ Redman and totally improvised 2nd set was a fucking blast to see live. I haven’t listened to it in a long time, but not having Jaco led to such a patient flow IMO. Also, I could never not go home happy after an Ophelia encore.

I loved that night so much. I made a shirt for my favorite section of improv, Chapter 20.

There was the NYC blizzard in 2016? 2017? Where Joel was going to miss the last show because of his father being sick. But then the blizzard cancelled the show anyway

Bayliss missed 4/18/03

Tbh Jakeless run is probably the most consistent fun I’ve had at a 3 night UM run since like 2012

I saw a show in the past 3/4 years that was all instrumentals and Jake songs. Brendan had bronchitis or some shit, but he was out there.

That was the Michigan show during the STUM ter

Jakeless ter was the best four nights of my UM career

I could argue the same. That run was a blast!

I was listening to that Albany 1/28 2nd set the other day. That IC is easily a top 3 post 2011 jam. One of my favorite runs attended as well.

Umphreys is just a better band without Jake. It’s simple facts.

Loved that Albany show.

" . . . with Joshua Redman."

This is so far from true. They would still be playing bars and clubs in South Bend if it weren’t for Jake

This is why those shows were so good. Without him y’all would’ve seen how bad they are without Jake.

Other than the 1348 > IC, my favorite part of that run is the improv without Redman

Lmao you like Jake chugs I knew it

Ehh that’s one part of his playing that I don’t like but it’s an objective fact that him and Kris are the most talented players and musicians in the band.
