What a normal band would do: offer a stems package as part of a pre-order download.

What a KB band does: offer the same package but tell people it’s an NFT for “reasons”

lol ya I know. Just don’t really see how the tech is the concern

It’s environmentally inefficient and has yet to prove a meaningful use case as a currency. Ubiquitous my ass.

The only thing the blockchain has been good for is exposing pedophiles who thought their (entirely public on the blockchain) transactions were untraceable.

Saw the email, laughed, deleted it. Fuck KB for still pushing this shit. Blockchain has been around for nearly a decade now. It’s not ubiquitous you dummy. Crypto isn’t the future. God everything is so stupid now

Yes, if it’s on a proof-of-work (PoW) blockchain. If it’s on proof-of-stake (PoS), no more inefficient than most anything else we do with a computer.

I checked the FAQ from the site linked in the original tweet. Looks like these NFTs are minted on the Polygon blockchain. Which is PoS. So, energy inefficiency probably isn’t the point to use against this.
