Seems like they have gotten back on the right track a bit since Summer Camp in terms of setlists and improv. Will be interested to see how they approach these DUMB shows.

It doesnāt surprise me one bit he likes DJ.
DJ is about to do so much blow when heās on the LIV ātourā. Dude just got paid $125 million to do blow, fuck Gretzkyās daughter and play golf with a bunch of has-beens.
Thereās 7 individual tournaments, winner takes home $25 million each time. I canāt imagine DJ not winning a few when heās playing the likes of Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer, Taylor Gooch and Rickie Fowler.
edit: everybody wants to trash DJ for joining but I donāt hear anybody applauding Tiger for turning down a $900 million offer.

Is anyone happy with the direction of the new record (other than the band?)
I donāt see them gaining any new fans with this one and losing some of the ones who were on the fence before. I was really wanting/hoping to like it

Donāt hate the songs but someone made a post earlier saying that if they released these songs 15 years ago, they would have never gotten into the band. I think thatās a pretty accurate statement

I listened to the new podcast episode today and Bayliss really likes New Wings. Kinda makes me feel bad I dislike it so much.
Iāll reserve judgment for when I hear it in full. That said I donāt think I have liked their direction much since Mantis. I donāt hate the new songs.

I dunno, it usually seems to me he is insecure about a lot of what they put out, so his enthusiasm over it stuck out to me. Though it could also be in part because Jake wrote the music on this one.
Historically has a new album ever signaled a ānew directionā for UM?
Maybe Mantis? But Iād be surprised if live show quality correlated with album release cycles.
