Not expecting this sultan post to really result in anything. He doesnât apologize for anything. He acknowledges what he did is bad and has hurt people, but doesnât say heâs sorry to those people. The blaming alcohol is like doubling down on it too.
It doesnât matter how much he reflects on his behavior if the last thing he says is basically âIâm not going to apologize, you can pm me if you have a problemâ

I think he thinks that having to show his ass by writing this long post and putting it on Facebook for his adoring fans to see counts as his penance. I hope Iâm wrong and that he really does work on himself and make amends to the people he has hurt, but all of these public apologies we see all the time nowadays never seem to amount to much. The people who really do want to get better tend to do it behind the scenes.
That said, I know the jam scene has experienced a ton of unacceptable behavior throughout the past and a lot of it has been tolerated and hasnât really come to light until recently. The one thing that gives me hope is that finally somebody was called out and put on blast for their shitty behavior, and hopefully that sends a strong signal to anyone else who thinks itâs cool to engage in Sultan-esque behavior that they will be similarly torched if they do so.

Yes, but Iâm still kinda sad that the Hurt Bird Bath from 4/7/07 didnât make it, definitely the best version of that song that I have seen them play.

Agreed 100% on that. I also thought the OB was stellar, but BB botched the lyrics towards the end, IIRC. Itâs been a very long time since I listened to the AUD recordings, but I think the OB is where the Angular Momentum jam actually originated. I may be off on that, but I feel like that was the scenario.
