I said I was going to Movement next year but I could make a return to camp after 13 years away.

I like the effort and if I go it will be something cool and unique to check out. Just feels really out of place.

I feel like even SP couldn’t get me to Scamp with all the horror stories I’ve heard. An RV might change my mind

I have been to every SCamp since 2004. It is not bad, and not any different from most festivals. People are just massive pussies. RV is way to go, though, for sure.

Pretty much no lineup could get me to any festival for more than a day

just do car camping if you don’t want to shell out for RV or don’t have enough people

easy in, easy out.
not too far from any of the stages
more spacious than other camping spots
ability to use your car to build good shade
sneaking in booze is not an issue (not like it’s hard anyways)

pretty much how I felt about Jane’s Addiction. I didn’t know any of their stuff but I ate a bunch of acid and went to check it out. Some dude enthusiastically asked me if they had played ā€˜mountain song’ yet. I just kept telling him ā€œI don’t know, I’m not a big Alice in Chains fanā€

I think I would only do a destination type of festival now, or something within walking distance of a hotel, VRBO, or rental cabin. Showers and flush toilets are necessary.

Holidaze seems pretty legit. Beach, booze, food, bands

It really just depends on weather. Not just for Scamp, but any fest. I was extremely comfortable camping at The Gorge all weekend this year, and the bathrooms were everywhere and spotless all weekend. Helped having the river, too.

I cant really handle tent camping if it is super hot out, pouring rain, or I am partying super hard all day.

Still need to do a destination fest some time, that seems most ideal and comfortable. Having my own space is definitely more my speed these days, but camping fests are hard to top in terms of pure fun. They are just exhausting.

the worst is trying to find a solid spot to sleep at 8am when you’re strung out but the birds, sun and early risers coming are just getting going. Having your own spot is huge

Yea, which is why RV is great for camping fests. Because lets face it, festival camping is not ā€œbeing one with natureā€ it is just loud degenerates being obnoxious all night. RV lets you be in the action while still getting to escape and get real sleep and stay comfortable all day. Plus fridge, shower to rinse off, easy to bring in booze. Can smoke weed in bed all day in the AC.

If I want to camp camp, its not at a festival.

In my experience, Scamp had the highest highs and lowest lows. Just very inconsistent. I could see car/RV camping neutralizing a lot of issues I have though.
