Yeah, I used to kinda hate on 3X early on, but that was also partially due to not liking the electronic elements at the start of the tune back then. I’ve def seen some amazing versions of the tune through the years, but if really took awhile to get some legs under it. Basically, I was super anti-electronic for many years, but have since then changed my tune on that. I still prefer music that comes from standard instruments over any electro stuff, but in the end good music is good music, regardless of how it’s produced. There’s no arguing that there is some amazing electronic music, but I still tend to lean towards traditionally made music 90% of the time, especially in the live setting.

always been underwhelmed by the Triple Wide. only ones I can remember involve Stasik & Bayliss jamming from the balcony at the Riv and the one I caught with Redman.

The Triple Wide from 04/28/06 was the first jam i saw from UM where i was in tune enough with their history/catalaog/great jams to truly recognize that i was seeing a GOAT level version at the time.
That version still gets me hype.

I caught back to back fire ones on 11/21/2009 (jam that turned into Night Nurse) and 2/14/2010 (nice Latin groove) and it feels like I haven’t seen anything even decent since then.

I definitely think offering merch packages to people streaming shows is very cringeworthy. If it doesn’t affect your show count, why would you want a shirt about it?

depends on the merch. i thought the wonka tee a few years ago was tied to a stream package, and that shirt had nothing show/location-specific about it, which was nice
