I kinda love when they do the “intro” tracks mid set without the pre recorded part. Oakland 2014 had both TNCIM and Tango Mike mid set

What does type 2 mean?

I know I’m such a fanboy but I like the title. I think it’s artistic in its own way.

I’m super excited for this album. I have always loved their intros, and I’m really excited for how they are fleshed out. I hope to god they stay instrumental.

Also +1 for everyone who has been wanting a studio WBG. Studio bridgeless almost gets me there

Same meaning as a Jimmy Stewart, essentially. Where the jam is completely different from the composed song itself. Type 2 is usually more of a Phish term, but it’s used with other jam bands

Right on thanks.

Leave me Las Vegas is streaming and it’s pretty good. It reminded me of Ohmphrey a little bit for some reason.

I mean, one of the worst things about new UM is the lyrics / vocal melodies, IMO. This might be refreshing.

Anybody have sultans home address? For real, PM me

I usually give UM a pretty long leash but this ‘album’ is completely unnecessary.

Looks like they’ve completely given up on appealing to new fans and are happy to just leech off us suckers until someone leaves the band to start their solo act opening for Twiddle.

i don’t understand this take. all of these things they do new fans eat up? they’re losing the people that helped them get where they are. all they care about is new fans. nobody that has been with them for years gives a fuck about an album of intro songs. or anything of the crypto bullshit. we literally want improv and streams that work.

I was thinking he meant people unfamiliar with the band

Who else would an album of intro songs appeal to other than people who don’t know they’re intro songs?

Have you been around for summer festival tours? Everyone is pissed because the setlist sucks and “all they’re trying to do is appeal to new fans and they’ve given up on us old fans.”

I’ve got no problem with being critical of this band. They do some dumb stuff. But fuck, if they want to release an album of intro songs then go for it. Want to give that album a long, dumb name? Go for it. I’ll give it a few listens on Spotify or nugs, but I won’t be pre-ordering the MP3’s or the vinyl.

I haven’t checked out how V4J have been reacting to this, but i bet they’re cumming all over each other right now in excitement.

I think y’all are taking this too seriously. It was a quarantine project. Instead of making sourdough they made an album of intros.

i don’t think the hate has anything to do with the product, i think the general consensus is “who cares about this”. what’s bad is their absolutely cringe worthy marketing and the dumbest album name i’ve heard in quite some time.

I agree about the marketing and the album title, but it’s perfectly consistent that the band that made Zonkey made this.

As for the “who cares” I think the answer is them. They care about having fun and finding something to keep their band active during 2020. Not everything has to be done to either appeal to new or old fans. Maybe the band just wanted to do it in it of itself.
