Idk I find them unlistenable
Yeah same here. I only listened to the Caverns PTP that hodor was fluffing and it was pretty bad. Iâd take a soundcaresser 05 board over what theyre putting out now
Boards have gotten a bit better but are still very rough.
Yea the quality is dog shit
Wow bunch of audiophiles in here apparently.
I am not an audiophile at all, I grew up on archive recordings and bootleg phish/dead tapes, but i would take the Matrix UM recordings from 2003-2005 over anything the JV coach is pumping out.
Iâm really not. The drop in quality is just hugely evident from Chris.
The only other jam band whose shows I regularly listen to are Sq Ft. They are playing shitty bars and tour with no FOH sound guy and yet their recordings sound great.
They should hire Jake to do FOH. Easier to get drunk on the job, and less likely to get noticed on the Bumfights YouTube channel.
To be clear I was saying the moe. guy handles the encores when they play 2nd and it sounds way more dogshit than the UM set. When UM plays 2nd coach handles the boards for the encore and at least the quality is consistent with what you listened to for their set
And see I think Browningâs boards are ass compared to Coachâs (now, not when he started) & Mitchellâs.
Theyâre both trash and itâs ok to admit
The more time passes, the more I realize âsoundcaresserâ is an incredibly lame moniker.
#KBMG
If it believed it was warranted Iâd have no problem saying it.

I skimmed through August from the last show and one from 2010. Iâd rather listen to KBâs. At least it sounds mixed and not compressed to hell. Like these Coach recordings are serious @ass. Pre-Chris they at least sounded of similar quality to most other jam bandsâ recordings.
I think JV might have been too generous. After doing a quick comparison to his peers in the scene i think his talents might be better suited for the Pee Wee leagues.
Well now we need the consensus for top 3 live sound engineers
It sucks because UM went from excellent boards to shit. Not an easy transition after years of really nice Mitchell sounds. Chrisâ early shows were rough too, I recall a Detroit show that sounded horrendous. But he quickly figured it out. Itâs been 2 years since he left and they still sound pretty bad
I just relistened to the Barrymore>first Ave 2011 run which were my first Mitchell shows and they sounded pretty good
