I welcome VR and all its applications. The only thing cringe about this is that the newest Oculus tech isn’t supported. This is superior than streaming it on TV.

This is a bummer. I just checked as well. Weird its available on the Rift and not the newer Oculus – you’d think the underlying software is very similar.
Does the Oculus indeed fuck or no? I’m curious. I’ve never tried the newer VR tech.
Yeah I’m wanting to pick up a headset too, but absolutely don’t want to support zuck the fuck.

The Index is superior but it’s also triple the price. I don’t think it’s worth the massive uptick in price. If money’s no real object and you have a powerful gaming PC the Index is definitely the way to go, but you’re honestly not sacrificing that much going with the Quest 2. It’s a solid piece of tech.
I’m super happy with mine. If you’re a fan of rhythm based games like I am (guitar hero/DDR/etc) it’s worth it just for Beat Saber and Synth Riders alone. I know I’ve already mentioned them a couple times here on the bort but they’re just that fun and a great workout. Great games to share with friends/family too.
Beyond those games, there’s a game called Pistol Whip that is really cool. Rhythm based but instead of hitting notes you’re shooting enemies and dodging bullets in time with the beat. Really fun.
I’m also a big fan of this mini golf game. It’s just super relaxing to play a round of mini golf whenever you want. Cool courses and realistic feel to it. I like to listen to my audiobook and play 36 holes whenever I pick it up.
The tech is not absolutely mind blowing but its close enough to really immerse you. I think it will be truly mind blowing in five to ten years. But for now, it’s a ton of fun and worth the cheap entry price IMO. The new Quest 2 is only $299.

It didn’t have the same viral response as cake farts did, but the wet beef created a different tone of fart. My buddy showed it to me during the 2009 UM Barrymore run and we still joke about it.
