so while moe.'s farmer ben has already been mentioned for its obvious cringtitude - it falls under a different sub-category of cringe.

self referential songs. farmer ben has the line “…he asked the people what they wanted to hear
moe.! they screamed, then they hit the floor…”

meanwhile, in this same vein, we have god street wine referring to themselves in the song “Wendy” - well we’re driving into town Mom but don’t let it trouble you, my girlfriend’s driving and she’ll stay straight, we’re all going in to see GSW, don’t expect me home til late.

RIGHT, i forgot about that one! at one point i had a good solid list of nearly 10 different artists who refer back to themselves, but this morning that has completely escaped me. thanks for this reminder
