No, he’s not touring with the band based on, at least one, date that directly conflicts with UM’s scheduled tour.

I think it being the formation of a new project along with the date being a few weeks out and conflicting with an UM date is whats grabbing people’s eyes.
I agree, we dont know anything. We also dont know that UM’s popularity is declining. Its all just speculation. Show me the exact numbers.
I must be missing something. If this was the day before an UM show rather than the day of, would this be any different? Dude has been taking a break for 3 months but playing other local gigs. This feels like more of the same
I don’t get why it being the same day as an UM show really matters when he’s been taking an extended break for months now
it’s just a novel data point to speculate about lol
So like astrology
I’ve been pretty optimistic about the whole situation until now. Figure he is done now and they will find a replacement. Love Jake and hope nothing but the best for him. Great dude and musician. What a great ride this band has been, will always be my favorite but all this doesn’t hit as hard since I can’t tour as much as I would be due to family. Still can’t wait to see them this summer for a handful of dates.
I totally agree this doesn’t look great and if this is the case I’ll be super bummed. I was just curious why this side gig over any of the other ones seems to be the deciding factor.
I agree with you. Their last announcement was that that Jake “remains off the road for the time being”. If he suddenly launched a full US tour with Ponce or Willie, I’d be more inclined to call it. Also agreed it’s somewhat noteworthy that it’s the first time he’s played a show that directly conflicts with a UM date, but it was bound to happen. To me, this still just seems like more of the same playing local shows and staying off the road.
On a personal level it’s a bummer because it kills the glimmer of hope I had that he’d be back for moe.mentum tour. My 80 year old dad is coming to see them for his second time, so I wanted them to be at full strength for him. He cares more about the musical pyrotechnics than heady yams. I’m kind of excited to see my first Jakeless show ever out of 101, but with both Kris and Jake out I’m not sure if my pops will enjoy em as much. TWT.
Jake had a guaranteed spot in the band 2 years before he joined, it seems he’s still worth waiting for.
All I know is that I’m 95% sure they won’t be replacing Jake or looking to add anyone. The door is there for Jake when and if he ever gets his shit together
Keeping a song written for Jake’s kid, in rotation, seems to me that it isn’t all bad between Jake and the band.
How about having a second guitar like Gantzer on tour (for 50% of the show or less) so that they can play the songs that require 2 guitars like Tinkles and Bridgeless? Or would everybody just read into that like he’s replacing Jake and the band doesn’t wanna deal with that
The speculation has been hilarious but this is it in a nutshell. It’s all on him to make the return possible so
If i had enough money saved to live a modest life and knew i would never have to share a bus with Stasik again, there is not a chance in hell i would come back.
Maybe it’s a positive situation
It could also maybe be a negative situation
really none of are business
He sounds positive
