Nah… they just won’t be as heavy as before. BB has kids, Stasik has kids, and i don’t think they’d give up so quickly.

I’m not surprised a board dedicated to a band would be rife with curiosity about what’s going on. Short of any insider info being shared (and I don’t think any has been here), we don’t 100% know what’s happening.
They’re gonna keep playing as long as people are gonna show up. BB, Joel, and Ryan all got mortgages and multiple college tuitions to pay.

I agree with this. I just dont think people will keep showing up. I hope so, because snark aside, i wish them well. I just dont see it being sustainable.

Serious question, and not that I’m disagreeing with you, but - why not? Why isn’t it the same band?
Still founded in South, Bend, still has 3/4 original members, still has the most major songwriter + singer in the band…?
Summary
I’m sure you mean it’s the “same band” technically but it would be a new era of the band with a key member departing. The way you wrote your message doesn’t make that distinction tho
is kinda irrelevant when they’ve toured as a 6piece for the past 20+ years and one of the non-original members brought a catalog with many songs that became UM staples.

Are people still showing up though?
I’ve always been curious the numbers behind it, but logistically speaking, they have a fairly big payroll for a band of their size and a shit ton of equipment to bring for 400 cap venues. Salt Shed NYE run did give me hope but feels like that was an anomaly.
I haven’t followed closely lately full disclosure
