Same here when I listened to the albums. However, this video is selling me on them big time.
Jason Isbell on the other hand, I definitely don’t get the hype there. Pretty boring overall imo.

yeah, he’s not everyone’s cup of tea. gotta have those southern sadboi feels. if you like what he does though, he is phenomenal in every aspect of his business. also one of the best Twitter follows out there.

with two woodstock 99 videos posted in the last day, I’ll again need to make mention of the podcast ‘whats up woodstock’ where the guys involved will fire up entire sets from that festival and talk through them on their watch along.
some guests include members of dr. dog, but otherwise, the hosts are dudes from west philly who have played in various local bands.
episodes were recorded in 2016 and 2017 primarily, and as far as i can tell, they never actually finished going through all of them, but they did get through 41 sets.

There is also a podcast called Podcast 99 which covers lots of background and interviews people who were there. Some episodes are better than others.
The full Last Waltz concert. Video isn’t great, but worth a look anyway.
