Given the topic/handle combo, this is obv self-promotion, but i hope you will find it worthwhile. Since UM is largely responsible for my love of improv music, and i’ve always been a huge admirer of their Jimmy Stewart techniques, I started a project based in Philadelphia, that brings together diff combos of musicians to basically execute Stews.
I always make a point to set up talkback mics and encourage everyone to call out key-changes, genre-changes, theme ideas and really anything else you can think of. I’ve got a bunch of releases on bandcamp and full videos on youtube, filmed in random outdoor locations.
