There is a small venue in Joliet Illinois called The Forge, or at least it was the last time I seen it. They’ve done heavy metal and Young Dolph has played there. Maybe 3 nights here?
Sheesh the 4/19 lucky number is also outstanding. Hate to compare bands but IMO this jam is a bit phishy…the major key bliss peak def has some Trey / Page vibes.
Haven’t listened to any other shows from the run but they’d have to be pretty amazing to better this one.
Cause for Alarm album is phenomenal sonically. Im a huge fan of a really good stereo image and this album absolutely has one. Lead guitar melodies/solos sit right in the middle but when harmonies or doubling up on riffs widens it up to the full L/R.
Vocals are also very interesting. Again, if theres harmonies or doubling up/effects then the image is super wide but if its isolated to a single vocal track it sits perfectly in the middle. The wide vocal image works really well in songs like Little Bit Further during the verse, but then the chorus line sinks right to the middle. Its normally the total opposite where youd have a centered vocals for the verse and then open it up wide during the chorus. Very cool.
Also shout out to the high frequency detail and clarity. No muddiness whatsoever that I can hear and there’s seemingly some really cool added percussion throughout. Cymbals sound great and very “ticky tacky” in the best way possible.
@cshore did you guys record certain guitar parts on the Cause for Alarm album with any strat like guitars or does one of you have a coil tap that you just use to get that fatter single coil type sound
