Really really like the instrumentation and soundscape of So Much but Small Strides is still my favorite out of all tracks released so far.
God that mandolin sounds so good on So Much though. Really happy with the way that one was recorded.

None of the songs have been too disagreeable for me but they’ve also been boring and uninteresting. As of now I can’t say I’m planning to buy the album.

I can’t see an environment where they will ever play this song live on a consistent basis outside of acoustic sets. It’s a fine piece of moody atmosphere. Super weird single choice though.

I agree that it seems like an odd song to fit in with their live product. But it also feels like a weird song to be done acoustically because of Jake’s solo.

Small Strides seems like a perfect opener (either set). That song has potential to bring it.

Love hearing Jake actually singing instead of growling / yelling / screaming.
I do like this tune and I like the chorus though I do think it sounds like a mid-2010’s Steven Wilson B side.

Funny you say this because I’ve had this discussion with my “wife” before. She said she hates Jake vocals while I feel like he “can” actually be a better singer than BB. Played this song tonight and she said she liked it because Jake wasn’t screaming.
This is a well crafted song but ultimately forgettable.
