Idk about that. There’s better Jake solos on this than nearly any UM album.

Agreed on the Jake solos

Its just all so teeny bopper to me. Like I feel like I’m 16 and I’m about to get laid, but I have to listen to my girls bad music first

I still think it’s you is a really good record

Hiccup definitely has some Talking Heads vibes. Curious how this one will come across live.

Currently listening to that one and feel the Talking Heads vibe for sure. The lyrics are sooooo bad though (obvi)

I rarely connect with Bayliss lyrics tbh. Especially in their more modern stuff, he sings a lot without actually saying much

Yeah, I feel weird even mentioning that Bayliss lyrics are bad. We’ve all known that for quite some time.

But like, they are. Really bad.

Jake solo on Pure Saturation is cash money

Hahaha, I appreciate your consistency in defending it.

I didnt hate either INU/IY. Maybe Someday is great UM

Hiccup is catchyAF like a 1980’s Police song on first listen.

It’s also one of the few UM songs where the title is actually easily identifiable in the lyrics.

That one has the In The Round video on spotify. Was that a stew from those “shows” too?

Keep going back to Escape Goat. Feels like it has huge dance jam potential. Where do we think the jam will come though? After first verse? After 2nd chorus? Cant be another end song jam a la Attachments right?

I could see that Jake solo before the last chorus kicking off a jam and then dropping back into the last chorus after a big peak

Yeah, probably why it went chorus > chorus.

Would love a Joel driven jam in Its Not Your Fault.

Hiccup is the catchiest tune on the album, IMO. It would make a great FM radio single for all the dads out there.

Through the Cracks as the hidden bonus track was an unexpected gem.

I concur, also think Bayless sounds his best here. Most cohesive sounding album since Mantis, I like.

For real?

Not about Through the Cracks, no.
