Definitely familiar. Sounded like the 12/11/04 Triple Wide riff to me last night, I know it’s been played a bunch over the years though
Stasik sounds awful in the stream mix at times. did he have issues? Very fuzzy and muffled sounding at times in set 1
I think it was stream related
Overall the mix on the video stream is better than the last time I tuned in, especially BB vox. It still seems there’s often one thing that’s too loud and it just never quite gets balanced out.
Enjoying set 2!
Watched the Red Tape, very solid. The return of 20min Red Tapes?
Yeah seems to get fixed halfway through Wide Open and then I didn’t notice it again.
This is a great show

Red Tape slaps
Red Tape should definitely be considered for JOTY. Don’t sleep on Resolution, BtL, and even Remind Me.
The Red Tape is definitely in JOTY contention. I just hope they can fix the fucked kick drum sound on the recording. This would be the second time “coach” fucked up the sound on an otherwise stellar show.
I’m glad 15 min+ triple wides may be back. That song was getting stale going 7 mins every time the last few years. This and the Grand Rapids one a few months back are both quite good
I haven’t been a fan of the kick drum sound on Scotty’s kit. I know this show is a different matter entirely because of the distortion coming off the kick drum, but they seem to be going for a dead slap sound emphasizing the beater hitting the batter head and not the tone of the overall drum. Plus, the kick is always way too loud in the mix and distracts from the other instruments. Sounds like a piece of plastic and I know that kit he has is nice. Seems like a very amateur sound guy production. Scotty’s snare sound however, has improved by a long way on recent shows. I could use more cymbals in the mix too because the cymbal flourishes and softer playing is getting lost.
love this analysis, thanks for sharing
I think it’s improving though. Listening to the 11/7 vogue show the click batter sound is less pronounced and there’s more bass drum tone.
He’s getting more prominent in the mix in improv sections, for that I appreciate the growth
Set 2 + encore are the business
