Last night wasn’t enough Floyd?
My gut reaction is that was the best single-set show they’ve played since I started seeing them.
I have a loose collection of shows that I consider contenders for the favorite I’ve ever been to, and this is right there with those.
Awesome, this setlist was not at all what I expected for a. “Album release party”
Sorry the mix sucked at home. In person it was damn good! I can’t travel for this band like I used to, no regrets paying some bucks for this local gig!
How’d the new record sound?
Has been a while since I listened to Unevolved simply because they don’t really play it live anymore, but it seemed to hit way harder as a studio track than I remember it being live. Also might have changed around some of the arrangement. It’s a monster track either way.
Has to be their best album since Similar Skin, maybe even since Mantis?
Really surprised me that they didn’t AT LEAST play Out Of Focus and/or Den. I’m not complaining, since that was an absolutely smokin show, but it was an odd choice not to play the lead single from the new album at the album release show.
The stretch from Tinkles through Crooked One is up there with the best hour of music I’ve ever seen them play. My friends and I were in awe. They were really on one last night.
I tuned in and tuned out immediately when I saw the QA format thinking it was something totally off the cuff. I regret that.
Any good info from the Q and A?
That Ringo was bangin
A lot of stuff about arrangements of Raw Stewage songs. The band basically being like “these are awful” for most of them during the arranging process. Some funny stories about Brendan & Joel being mad at eachother way back in the day. The original Unevolved concept was over 30 mins but they took out like 8 mins worth of legos. Exit Signs lyrics are about a drunk couple pulling off the highway to go fuck in a hotel. Scotty is apparently a very polite touring companion. He said DBK has been the hardest song to learn correctly that he’s played so far, but that he couldn’t do No Comment when they suggested it for a set, and for Prowler they never rehearsed as a band with him, he just knew it.
Gov’t Mule is on tour and are playing Chicago today after an off day yesterday.
I have to wonder if they didn’t play any of Blueprints because Scotty has to learn an entire album of new songs?
He’s played half the songs. They probably didn’t play any since they did a listening party before the show.

8 Warren appearances total including last night.
Loved that Thin Air he sat in on from 2005.
Nugs tracking needs an update for that show. “noodling and banter” is just Great American
I mean noodling describes the composed section of great american pretty well
Pretty special show for my 150th, I had a blast. First time eating chicken wings during an UM set, but hopefully not the last.
Tinkle’s, Ringo and Crooked One were highlights, and the Warren sit-in was a really great surprise. Thought the venue sounded incredible too, sucks to hear the stream audio was shit.
