Yea Dead is its own thing though. They get a pass. UM also doesnt have any suites so less excuse

Closest thing UM has as a suite nowdays is CW > CWII

Tinkles > Mulches back in the day

Edit: kinda surprised JaJunk > 13 Days > JaJunk never really became a thing

Forgot about that one

Maybe i blinded by ScarletFire and MikesGroove but i am more forgiving when it comes to suites

Preamble > Mantis Ghetts > Mantis is a rare combo that I love.

Yea agree. That is way different than starting/finishing AIT/Bridgeless/Mantis/Divisions/OB, etc, when split up though. Not saying i dont like it either just saying the occasional curveball keeps you on your toes

I enjoyed the Harvest Moon more than I expected. I’m generally not the biggest Kanika fan, but she does it justice. Trying to figure out where those vocal harmonies came from though.

This Bridgeless is pretty fire though.

I wasn’t saying that it’s bad at all. In fact, i might be inclined to side with your opinion that change could work on their favor. I’d think that Scotty’s experience of palindrome sets with Dopapod could be helpful too .

This Bridgeless is hot fucking fire. 16 min to 20 sounds like Pink Floyd. Then another section at the 20 minute mark. That’s like 3 or 4 different jam portions.

Umphreys is fucking back baby. Tell everyone.

Pretty slick going into the Bridgeless jam…very un-UM…

The section from 5:20-5:45 of Educated Guess floored me. If I didn’t know it wasn’t Kris, I don’t think I would have even noticed it was someone else playing.

Joel sounds turned up too.

I still don’t like this new guy’s mixes, but this is a step in the right direction.

He was definitely looser during the jams for this show, adding some off-time, syncopation stuff in the drum fills.

I prefer most, if not all of the songs they sandwich better as standalone versions.

yeah he killed that.

This Educated Guess is the best example from the first two shows of how much Kris’ vocal harmonies were missing IMO. Joel tries to pick up the slack but its a unique situation where the best voice in the band came from somebody who mostly did harmonies and Metallica/Radiohead covers.

I cant even remember what Educated Guess sounds like so i will assume Scotty does it better

Haven’t gotten to escape yet, but enjoyed this show a lot more than the night before. Some interesting sections of improv
