I didn’t catch it in live time but the 1st jam in 1348 is the Around the Horn theme song that UM made for the show. They also did Layla as a nod to Tony Reali who was the host of the show. Earlier in the day espn announced the show was being cancelled after 23 years.

Was not aware of this. Makes much more sense now.
I had assumed the Layla as just a nod to International Women’s Day.

TIL about the theme song being an actual contribution from the band. I think I’m still confused as to what I think of when yall say ATH or I’m not hearing things right. Is the B-section of the 1/14/17 Similar Skin jam, a variation of the ATH jam or is that something entirely different? I swear it’s the last time I’ll ask.

I think I’m mixing up jams in my head.

Sorry I’m not a musician so I don’t know keys chords or sections. Maybe someone else can clarify further. 8 minutes into Wappy I’ve heard that jam repeated before perhaps someone has knowledge on that?

This one i do know lol. There’s quite a few jams that I’ve heard this in, but 1st one to mind is 11/20/09 Triple Wide about 9 minutes in or so. Part of me think it’s a riff from Robot Rock that they turned into a Lego or something.

I dunno, I think people just refer to it as the ATH jam even though it’s definitely not the same as the ATH theme…it’s just similar ish in that it’s an up tempo funk jam

It’s the music they did for ATH that would be in the very beginning of the show and some commercial bumpers, not the theme linked above. Beginning of this video for reference
