Watched the first set this morning. Really enjoyed the Bottom Half and the Wappy. The Bottom Half in particiular has some of my favorite Umphrey’s jamming. Loved the Jesus, etc. cover - but I agree that it sapped some of the energy from the set. If they want to cover Wilco then I’d maybe suggest some of the material from A Ghost Is Born - I think it fits the UM vibe better.
I stand by my opinion from last night that the second set is entirely forgettable. I’m sure it was fun in person, but it has zero replay value.
First half of set 2 I enjoyed. I kinda wrote off ever seeing a full version of Layla ever live so that was enjoyable for me, Clapton only plays the lame acoustic version now. I’ll take the ending of Concessions any show too.
Got a late start yesterday, was lurking pretty high up in the balcony. Hopefully will meet more borters at another show soon!
The first hour has the 1st set being the SOTW, and it seemed like AIT was gonna keep that vibe going, until the first 2/3 of Concessions almost puts me to sleep. 1348 was pretty awesome, with my personal favorite jam (Around The Horn, i guess it’s called), and for whatever reason, we’re blessed with the pep rally pedo song. I thought the encore was pretty hot. My nitpicking aside, this was a pretty good 4 day run, and I’ll have a highlights playlist curated by the end of the day.
Most fun I’ve had at an UM show in a long time. 1st set was absolutely incredible. I really don’t care for most of Concessions but that final 1/3rd of it live is really fun. Layla, 1348, Slacker so much fun. Being there is just so different than streaming it. Lady said she had some of the most fun she’s ever had! Such a great night and I had the pleasure of running into @DiabetesCOLE on my way out of the bathroom stall. Sorry for not coming to find you guys I was very preoccupied

The “around the horn” tribute they are referring to is Layla because the band performed it with Tony Reali from Around the Horn sat in with the band for this song it’s on YouTube. Everyone in this thread was hating on the Rock n Roll pt 2 jam “hey” but personally I enjoyed it.

I thought that it was referring to the repeat jam in 1348. It’s been done in 1/14/17 Similar Skin and 4/27/17 FF. Thanks for the clarification.
UM fans dont like fun. They like old prog songs with composed jams.
Pretty good show. It kinda fell apart in the 4th quarter which leaves a slightly disappointing feeling even though it was quite strong up until we got glitter’d/jock jams.
Really enjoyed the Bottom 1/2, wappy and AIT > concessions.
So glad Fenced In was cut.

I wish they were doing Jock Jams volume 1 instead of all night wonky or whatever we are getting for umbowl this year.
Great night, awesome seeing everyone even though I definitely missed many people. That first set was probably the best set of Umphrey’s I’ve seen in person since before Covid. Thank you @DiabetesCOLE and @hbbubblebath for making SFB happen. You guys are the best! I can finally cross that ridiculous stat off after 190 shows.
