S1 is S(et)OTY so far against minimal competition. Good, patient jam in Remind Me. Another solid patient jam in Synco without resorting to chugs and shit. Ninja bustout. Solid cover.
I’ll get to S2 tonight on the way home, but so far this show rocks

Damn straight it smoked. This would be one of the best shows of LAST year for sure. The patience in this show is really nice. “Just establish a groove and then let Bayliss/Jake/Joel do their thing over it” is proving a really nice formula for them so far this year, especially when Bayliss is having an especially good tour. His harmonic phrasing and ideas are really on point, and it helps make Synco and Silent Type what they are. I especially like the 2nd section of Silent Type. The 1st section is just a really good version of the standard chugging dance jam they always do but pushing the 2nd section into moodier territory is exactly what made the Philadelphia Silent Type soar a couple years ago, and this isn’t quite that but it’s real good.
Speaking of moody, give this August a listen. I really wish they had gone into the “heavy” B section more than once as it’s a nice shock to the system but this is one of the better August bouncebacks between two simple progressions they’ve done in awhile.
All In Time is long but oddly much less good than the other long jams as the band struggles to get in sync with each other but it’s an outlier of this show. Looks like a fun night all around.

Also, lol bayliss goofed up the lyrics in cripple creek. Only one line. Still a rad version. I wish they would cover the band more. They always put a smile on my face. Only caught Ophelia at red rocks 2014, I literally jumped up as soon as soon as the opening chord started
