You left off Draco because you didn’t personally like it? Also. I won’t take that rational chatter as a personal dig
I would add Phil’s from Eugene. Not as a standalone. But because of the 1, 2 combo of Phil’s Synco

Truthfully, I skimmed past it. When I first listened to it, I was box deep into some gas and for some reason I must’ve stopped listening after Red Tape, and never relistened.
Just giving you a hard time. Your list is solid if you add the Draco. I also like SD N2F but could see people not liking the dub parts
Leaving Fancy off is due to me going on a bender of pre 2010 UM during the previous week, and thinking that the Fancy of these days don’t hold water to the Fancy of old. Seemed on the shorter side of what a great Fancy could do, but it did sound good.
Bears repeating that despite some flaws, WC ter was not too shabby.
Bear down, FTP
I still haven’t listened to Boise or Tahoe yet (hopefully today), but WC updates:
3/14 Synco
3/23 Small Strides
3/24 Fenced In
2/18 Dump hasn’t been mentioned in this thread yet also and is right up there with the Plunger iMO.
I actually like the Dump City a little more than the Plunger.
That’s fine regarding length, I get totally get
Fwiw, this band just doesn’t play 27 minutes Utopians anymore, that’s why 18-20 minute ones from 2019 made Hall of Fame
I’ll go ahead and add Tahoe Hiccup and Draconian. (And Red Tape is close…what a banger show Tahoe is. Excellent.)
Tahoe vs Philadelphia Hiccup may be a 2019 Plunger situation
Hiccup is awesome. I love the little vocal harmonies Jake and K or J are doing in it. This song sounds a little like UM in the styling of Steely Dan
Tahoe Hiccup might just be my favorite JOTY, I dunno I need to run through the playlist. Objectively it’s probably not the best but man it just hits that sweet spot for me.

updated playlist
Is Domino really that good? I mean its only like 10 min long total.
Also i feel like Detroit Mitten should be on this list if the bar is that low
I deserve this nickname
Many of the bands best jams over the years have been 6-7 mins long really and that jam is in that range
Ok, I havent even listened to it. @hbbubblebath keeps telling me to. But I hate that song
Domino Theory is Umphrey’s Shock Doctrine though brah!
1/14 The Crooked One
2/16 Hiccup
1/13 Domino Theory
1/12 DBK
I don’t think anything has tickled my ears this year more than the build up to and peak of the crooked one at the 11 minute mark. I don’t even have words other than echo what others have said about it being original, and different. It’s jangly/ ratchety nature lights stuff up in my brain. I wish they woulda rode it for 4-5 more minutes and bounced back to the first section only to come back harder on the second theme.
I think the hiccup is a great example of how UM can create these subtle textures that can pull your heart strings in ways you did not anticipate. I was so caught off guard by how the last note in Stasik’s baseline made me feel. Like it was extremely emotive to me and touched me really deeply. I also think that they stuck with this theme and didn’t bail out too quickly into their “glory-esq” crescendo, which while people love it. I also give points for not doing it.
Domino is similar to hiccup in its emotive power, but they bail out into the crescendo. No me gusta crescendo bailouts.
DBK, I must confess that I have not listened back to in a few weeks. But I wasn’t that high on it to begin with.
