D+, 4/10. First and importantly, the audio was trash for more than half the show and helped me not enjoying it.
EG started good, cock rocked, started another jam that could’ve been good, abortion into a no jam Floor. That completely killed any mood that I had about this show. Up until the CWII, I was about as bored as I’ve ever been for a stream, regarding the 2nd set at least.
Set 1 was OK with some tolerable white boy funk and chugs, but the standard 40s funk jam made it seem like way too much white boy funk for 1 night.
I’ll fluff all day long, but if I’m listing sets of the run, these 2 could easily be the bottom 2. Gonna be positive and believe the energy they had for the encore transfers to tonight.
You might be on to something with the song selection. This show isn’t my ideal good time in that regard. In fact, I kept feeling like it resembled a festy setlist only missing a Wappy.
Plus, I’m already feeling not-positive about tonight knowing there’ll be horns, multiple covers, and potential drunken sloppiness while I’m trying to stay awake way past my bedtime, meaning I was selfishly expecting some let loose for this show.
Why are they playing 4 AFAF songs in a show when it’s almost 2025? I don’t even hate the album but that feels like overkill this far from release and on a New Years run. Cool to see Swerving pop up though
