Alright, I’ve been wondering when I’d be able to tell this epically boring story. So it all started when my friends and I each ate an 8th of booms. We’re all having a great time but my buddy Sean who broke my umphreys cherry, he kept saying “hmmmm” and only that for like 2 hours straight. The next day one of us said “what was with that case of the hmmms?” So “the hmmms” became an inside joke with the friend group. Along comes an Umphreys show and I say “let’s take some shrooms and go see Ummmmms lol” and it stuck with us ever since.

And now I’m here

TBH, I can’t even say “Umph” anymore without feeling silly. I’ll abbreviate it, say Umphrey’s, or call them “The Boys”. Anything else seems denigrating in my head lol.

@Gregaforce7 i will always appreciate you for boosting up my enthusiasm for this band, and the extra “s” at the end will forever remind me(jo) of you buddy. Don’t stop being you, and spread that joy far and wide.

Thanks homie! They’re the best band out there and I’ll defend that point time and time again even if my opposition has really good, solid, and irrefutable points lmao. And likewise never let your UMs love get drained by numbskulls on the net! A jaded fan is just one that hasn’t been to a show in a while and is sad at themselves hahaha

Hope 2025 gives me an UMs terrr with SFs opening the whole way

On Nugs. Naturally I’m gonna whine about Front Porch not getting taken deep.

Through Water, and this 1st set is good and professional. Crisp and clean. Pause free set is always welcomed.

2nd set wasn’t as good as the 1st, but Seasons was tight.

I just skimmed this show. This is easily the weakest of the 9 the band has played over the last two weeks, but it’s by no means bad. The improv well has just run dry - it’s possible the rain delay had something to do with it. I do enjoy the song selection and segues this show quite a lot (Wappy > Water is a wow moment) but everything is pretty vanilla except Seasons, which actually does take some time to expand upon a fun, fast dance groove. Showing up for a free show in VA Beach and getting this setlist sounds like a blast though.
