AVL gets shit on constantly by snobby locals but itā€™s still a magical place imo. Glad you enjoyed it!

Seems like it was full of people not from there. Idk, it would be pretty dope to live somewhere where you constantly see new people. Here in cinci itā€™s Groundhog Day

Its getting real dirty. Wayyyyy too many people here now too. And a lot of them suck.

How old are you

Yeah, I get you. Itā€™s quite different than when Iā€™d visit all the time as a kid or in college but itā€™s all about the outdoors for me. Still incredible on that front
Downtown is a mess now though.

Yeah I saw that dude on the upright piano that moves up the sidewalk. Wtf, canā€™t they have ā€œexcuse me sir I need 75 cents for the busā€ like real beautiful cities

Ive been here 13 years now and its completely different than the city I fell in love with. But I get you too. The outdoors stuff is great. We live in a big adult playground in one of the most beautiful places in the country.

I live wayyy out in Leicester. Can be in Hot Springs as fast as I can be downtown AvL. If I stayed here, Iā€™d probably move out to waynesville. But I have a sweet deal rn lol.

Think our plan is a beach town though. Wrightsville, Tybee, St Auggy. Or disappearing in a small mtn town in CO, maybe Ned?

Doubt Iā€™ll be here more than a couple more years, then again, I said id only live here 5 years lol

Ned is tight. Find a spot off a sideroad from Canyon Blvd and youā€™ll be set, quick to Boulder shit but absolute social silence out there

I love Ned so much. The ā€œwifeā€ and I have traveled all over the country together and Ned is the only place she immediately fell in love with and said she would move to. Problem is, we both work in the service industry and it would be much harder there. Theres like 4 restaurants and a couple breweries in ned. Cant get a job in Boulder because you cant get down the mtn when it snows

Yeah my best friend lived in Boulder for two years, said AWD vehicles were a necessity. Heā€™s a musician/music teacher and still made it down the mountain for work lol. Itā€™s anecdotal but enough to say, your dream isnā€™t impossible.

ā€œIā€™m not a musician but Iā€™m friends with a fewā€

We stopped there a few years ago while driving between Knoxville and Blowing Rock, ā€œwifeā€ and kids at lunch at a streamside restaurant while I flyfished right by their deck. It was a quaint little town. I could stay in a small town like that for a week and have fun just exploring with a flyrod, but the rest of the family would ultimately be boredAF.

St Augustine is a cool town but itā€™s gotten really expensive and Floriduhā€™s politics have become so regressive. Plenty of work for people in the service industry though.

Hot Springs is where my fav outdoor stuff is. Laurel River, Section 9 of French Broad. Lots of cool hiking spots. And

St Auggy is my last choice, because I dont wanna live in FL. Love the city though.

Only 3 or 4 towns in FL I like to visit, Dunedin, St Augustine, Key West, and Cedar Key. I wouldnā€™t have any desire to necessarily live in any of them but I like the walkability, good food, and places to quench your thirst.

Iā€™m still amazed at the opportunities MI presents for weekend activities. Beaches, massive sand dunes, beautiful rivers, quaint smaller towns, tons of lakes, and even a few areas with some hills and ridges.
