I had a good time streaming this last night. Watching sober from the couch gave me a different perspective. I was definitely more aware of some sloppiness. I don’t think I like Small Strides as a set 1 opener. It takes a while to kick in and it made for a super low energy start.

This felt about the same as Bloomington and STL. Nothing super notable improv-wise. They’re making an effort, and it’s fine, and in person it’s always fun, but I agree with the consensus that something is a little off. I wonder if some practice would do them well. Go for some more structured somewhat pre-composed improv until the ideas are flowing more easily. Some of the jams just feel kinda uninspired. 4/4 simple dancey funk jams because they have to. Higgins was unique - I don’t think I’ve heard Jake use that effect. Sounded like a whammy pedal pitch modulator (maybe?).
