It’s okay man! Your doppelgänger was standing right in front of Dustin and I, fortunately I asked Dustin if that was you before making an ass of myself. I’ll catch you next show

Great seeing you again.

Now that I’m thinking of it, I wonder if that was @OSUmBeaverPhreak standing in front of us. I forgot you were going to be there, too!

Linear jam was absolutely undisputed jam of the song

Easily the best jam of that point in time.

…accounting for the time difference, was Bisco in the middle of a set then?

Umphrey’s is way better than the Biscuits to my ears these days and it’s not even close. It took me 50 Biscuits shows since 2006 to make me realize they let me down more often than not at this point. I guess I just saw two clunkers this year though (Portland and Chicago.) I think one of the nights of the Mission I caught in 2022 was pretty solid. The Red Rocks show I caught in 2021 was pretty forgettable. The last shows I caught before that were the April Philly run in 2018 and the first two nights of that run were pretty lackluster. It’s just been a long time since I’ve seen anything consistent from them. So yes, Umphrey’s was definitely the best jam of that point in time IMO. These days I’m more stoked to see friends at the Biscuits than the Biscuits themselves. SIYD?

Thats crazy. 2023 is def the best year for the band since 2009 and probably top 3 all time.

Then again, I feel about UM what you feel for Bisco. Diff strokes and all.

I haven’t really listened to the highlights to be honest. But the two shows I saw live I know were generally panned by the black board from what I was reading. So I think I just had bad odds at seeing a burner show. I’m still going to give them chances I just don’t feel the draw to them like I used to. 2009 I saw them 13 times so I am intrigued to hear that 2023 was considered one of the best years of the Allen era. I used to be down to drive 15+ hours for the Biscuits (2011 Inferno from Austin last minute and later that summer from Boulder to Camp Bisco after the Lotus and UM shows then back to Austin from Mariaville) but today I am only trying to see them in Colorado or locally if they come out here again next summer. I’d also do Vegas or AC (especially if Phish plays AC this Halloween and they latch on as late nights.) I’d go anywhere my friends where going to be honest haha it’s just more about spending time with the homies than seeing the Biscuits right now. Probably will change at some point, hopefully for the better. Biscuits have always been my high risk high reward band. I just haven’t had good luck with them the last decade or so.

I have listened to about an hour of 2023 Biscuits and did not see any shows. I am happy they are playing well but I barely listen to live shows and when I do it’s UM, Spafford or SqFt. Even for those bands it is like once or twice a week for a half an hour or so at a time.

I look forward to seeing the Biscuits in Asheville and Atlanta in April though, they are my second most seen band behind UM…approaching 220 for them.
